As sung by Neko Case, over and over and over again.
But here we are. In London! And I am attempting a blog so that we don’t feel so very far away at all. I always thought having a blog would be so cool. But I guess that’s only if your blog is cool. Sigh.
We arrived into Heathrow Thursday morning. In the almost two days we have been in London, we have set up our cute little corporate apartment in Marylebone (if by “setting up” you mean buying clementine oranges and finding the channel that shows American Idol), bought adapters that we have to return, visited Boots and Tesco Express twice, experienced very annoying jet lag, bought a mobile phone (not cell, you silly Americans- oh wait, I am American too), and I walked to Regents Park for a bit. Bryan is sick… we are chalking it up to the stress of the move, and navigating the great new world of British pharmaceuticals.
We bought a thermometer that is in centigrade. How fun! No seriously, many conversions to be done. I am going to carry around a calculator so I know what the weather actually is.
Speaking of weather, today was sunny and beautiful. It made me very happy.
Yes, it is expensive here- but only because the dollar is weak. But bottled water is cheap- so I think we will be very well-hydrated. In case you were worried.
We will post pictures soon.
